About the Friends

The Friends of Governor Dodge State Park are a group of volunteers working together to support recreation, education and environmental stewardship in the park. We love this park and think it has a lot to offer, so let us show you the beauty that is Governor Dodge State Park!

Current Fundraisers

We receive funds from many sources, you can help by offering a financial contribution in any of these ways:

  • Firewood Sales
  • Donations and membership dues
  • Sales of items at the concession stand
  • Collectable pins
  • Memorial Benches

Future Goals

One of our many goals include on-going support for the Park Naturalist position.  We are proud to help sponsor the Park Naturalist again this year.  To help the Naturalist, we'd like to restore and upgrade the amphitheater.

On-going goals include continuing annual events like Smokey's Birthday Party, a Candlelight Hike in the Fall and a Candlelight Ski in the Winter. We also take an active role in picking up litter in the park as well as adopting the highway out front of the park. We would like to continue to battle the invasive plants throughout the park, continue to aid the interpretive efforts of the park, and continue our fundraising through firewood sales. Any and all help is appreciated, from physical labor to fundraising and grant writing to painting. If you would like to help in any way, please Contact Us.

Candlelight Ski

An annual event that is sure to warm you up on a cold winter night. Learn more about our Candlelight Events. Hope to see you there!
