Candlelight Events

Every year, the Friends host a candle light ski in the park. It is a great time to get out and see the park when the ice is glittering and the sounds are hushed.

You'll see us there around the campfire, serving up warm drinks and friendly tales or taking time out to enjoy the trails.

Candlelight Ski

January 16th, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Cox Hollow Beach Area

Winter is here! We have scheduled the Candlelight ski for January 16th, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Everyone is welcome. There will be snacks for sale in the concession stand and the Friends will provide a campfire and roasting sticks. Pending weather and ice conditions, there will be a trail on the frozen lake and/or through the woods on the Lakeview Trail. If there is no snow, there will still be a hike.

Volunteers are always needed to help light the trail and staff the Friends welcome table. Bring a friend and some warm cheer and join us for another fun event!

Fall Candlelight Hike

2009 Candlight Hike will be Saturday, October 10th.

The event will include T-Shirt printing (provide your own t-shirts) at 1:00 PM. Check with the park office for location.
A guided naturalist hike. Check with the park office for location. Guided hike starts at 5:00 PM.
The candlelight hike will be held once again on the scenic Lakeview Trail from 6:00-8:00 PM. Hikers will enjoy the wonder of autumn as they stroll through the forest.
Food will be for sale in the concession stand. There will be a bonfire and the stuff to make s'mores provided by the Friends. Park at the Cox Hollow beach area.
Check the date on our calendar.

This is the perfect event to volunteer your services. Set-up will be about an hour before hike time and take down will be immediately after the hike. All help is appreciated!
