Candlelight Events

Every year, the Friends host a candle light ski in the park. It is a great time to get out and see the park when the ice is glittering and the sounds are hushed.

You'll see us there around the campfire, serving up warm drinks and friendly tales or taking time out to enjoy the trails.

Candlelight Ski

Candle Light Ski for 2013 has been scheduled for Saturday, January 19 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.
UPDATE - due to icy conditions and lack of manageable snow, the Candlelight Ski has been CANCELLED. Although there is snow on most of the trail, it would become a serious danger at night with so many people. We are sorry the event can not happen this year, but we will try again next year!

It is normally located at the Cox Hollow Beach area and follows either Lakeview Trail, a path on the frozen Cox Hollow Lake, or both. Concessions and a bonfire are usually the plan, check back later for details.

The Friends are proud to once again partner with the park to hold a Candle light Ski in the Cox Hollow area. The trail will be decided once the event gets closer as snow conditions will dictate whether we will be using Lakeview trail, Cox Hollow Lake or both. Amenities to be provided will be a warm fire, fixin's for smores and concessions for sale. Make sure to bring your warm cheer! Mark your calendars!

As always, any and all help is greatly appreciated. Throughout the winter we will be preparing candle bags. The day of the event, we will need help placing and lighting candles. If you would like to help the day of the event, please show up about an hour before (around 5PM).

Fall Candlelight Hike

2013 Candlight Hike has not yet been scheduled.
